The American Distilling Institute is holding its 6th Annual conference at Hangar One/ St. George just up the road in Alameda this weekend. Although that's for the trade, their "Meet the Maker" tasting event is open to the public, where you can taste craft spirits from across the country including our own Hangar One vodkas and St. George's delicious eaux de vie and the first domestic post-ban absinthe. Basic details are below - more info and registration here. “MEET THE MAKER” – SUNDAY April 5, 2009 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. 40 craft distilleries pour their best artisanal whiskies, brandies, rums, gins, vodkas, absinthes and one-of-a-kind liqueurs. Craft distillers from all over the country will be pouring, including Huber Starlight Distillery (IN), Stranahan's Colorado Whiskey (CO), North Shore Distillery (IL), Vermont Spirits (VT), Great Lakes Distillery (WI), Dry Fly Distilling (WA), Rogue Distillery (OR), Tuthilltown Spirits Distillery (NY), Germain- Robin (CA), and Clear Creek Distillery (OR). Proceeds benefit the Michael Jackson Memorial Distilling Scholarship.
