All,CVSD is sponsoring a wonderful CV cleanup effort for Earth Day, Saturday, April 25. One of the sites for which they are looking for volunteers is Greenridge Park. My husband and I and our next door neighbor have volunteered for that site but there are others to choose from. The cleanup is from 9 AM to 12 PM and is followed by a catered BBQ lunch at Lake Chabot Regional Park. The Lake Chabot Queen tour boat will offer tours at discounted rates of $2 for adults and $1 for children. What a deal!I was hoping that this might be a springboard for a little cleanup effort on Greenridge. I always notice a lot of trash at the bottom of the hill and on lots with houses remote from the street there is plant growth that practically requires you to step off the curb in order to pass. Jerry Caufield has mounted a heroic effort recently to clean up the landscaped area with the Greenridge sign. I don't think it would take more than a few hours on an occasional basis, say quarterly, for a group of residents to spruce up our street.Anyway, if you want more information on the Earth Day activities, go to this site for information and to sign up: http://www.cvsan.org/earthday09/cvcleanup.htm#afterYou can do a good deed and have fun in the process. We hope to see you there.
