Triangle Clean-up

On Saturday, July 9, nine intrepid residents of the Greenridge/Coldwater community hacked, pulled, dug, trimmed, pruned, weed-eated, swept, shoveled, and hauled for three hours at the Greenridge triangle. We joined Jerry Caufield who toiled in obscurity for more than a year before asking Dick and me to join him in his beautification efforts. As our group of volunteers grows, so will the scope of our work as we strive to create a threshold to our neighborhood that justifies the glowing description found in the most recent issue of CA-Modern Magazine.

Those of you who walk up the hill will enjoy being able to do so on the sidewalk without having to step into the street. And all of us can take pleasure in the absence of trash and weeds. So the next time you see Jerry Caufield, Dick Eandi, John Giles, Dani Malik, Anna Mazzei, Sylvia Tedesco, Don Vincent or Thomas Westfall, why not tell them how much you appreciate their efforts. We'll be doing this again and hope more of you will join us next time. (Check here for an upcoming photo album of our crew.)

  • Thank you to all who participated!  I couldn't make it as I had to work that day.  Hopefully next time I'll be available to help out.

Giving up a part of your weekend to beautify our neighborhood is very much appreciated!

  • I see that some good neighbor cleaned up the weeds I had to leave because 1) I didn't bring my clippers and 2) I ran out of steam at 11.30 and didn't get the very bottom of the sidewalk!  This is really a wonderful neighborhood!
