  • Yeah, if our kitchen hadn't already been updated before we moved in, I would've tried to go gas as well, though we did get used to electric pretty quickly. My understanding is that the main issue is getting the gas line run into your kitchen in the first place (and of course you don't want to go through the slab for numerous reasons), so the difficulty will vary depending on proximity of the gas main, and ease of running a line from the exterior to where the stove will be (or perhaps it could be split off from the gas line used to power your dryer, again thinking about how it would get from there to your stove). e.g. if you plan to have the stove in the middle of a countertop that is connected to an exterior wall in a galley kitchen, it may be pretty easy to get the line hidden in the cabinets; if you plan to put it in an island, you may have to drop the gas line down from the ceiling or something nutty like that.
